Recently, Jingye Steel successfully completed the industrial production of X70M/PSL2 high-end pipeline steel, with all key technical indicators meeting PSL2 quality requirements and API standards. The achievement marks a significant breakthrough in Jingye Steel’s high-grade steel research and pipeline steel rolling control technology.

X70M/PSL2 pipeline steel is a premium heavy plate steel designed for oil and gas transmission pipelines. It is mainly used in the manufacturing of high-pressure and large-diameter long-distance pipelines, ensuring safe and efficient oil and gas transportation in complex geological conditions and low-temperature environments.

The X70M/PSL2 steel plate offers high strength, excellent toughness, and a low yield ratio. It also provides superior low-temperature crack resistance, excellent weldability, and high operational safety performance, making it suitable for demanding energy infrastructure projects.

To overcome production challenges, Jingye Steel implemented strict closed-loop quality control throughout the entire steelmaking and rolling process, supported by specialized production technologies to ensure stable and reliable manufacturing.

During the steelmaking process, enhanced dephosphorization technology and double-slag operation were adopted in the converter process to precisely control tapping quality. In the LF refining stage, submerged arc refining under micro-positive pressure conditions enabled sulfur content to remain below 0.002%. RH ultra-vacuum treatment further improved molten steel cleanliness. In the continuous casting process, advanced technologies including protective casting, electromagnetic stirring, and soft reduction were integrated to ensure slab quality exceeded industry standards.

During the rolling process, Jingye Steel adopted full-process precision control technology. Supported by an ultra-fast cooling system, cooling parameters were accurately adjusted in real time, ensuring stable and controllable production throughout the manufacturing process.

After trial production and inspection, the X70M/PSL2 pipeline steel demonstrated stable mechanical properties, excellent plate shape, superior weldability, and outstanding low-temperature service performance. All critical performance indicators fully satisfied international standards and customer requirements.
