Jingye Steel Successfully Rolls Weathering Structural Steel Q355NHC, Advancing High-Value Steel Production

Recently, Jingye Steel successfully produced weathering structural steel Q355NHC, marking another breakthrough in its high-value-added steel product development. This new grade combines high strength, excellent corrosion resistance, and superior low-temperature toughness, while maintaining stable processing performance suitable for mass production.
Q355NHC weathering steel is widely applied in transportation infrastructure, bridge engineering, municipal construction, steel structures, landscape architecture, energy projects, and industrial equipment, especially in outdoor and corrosive environments requiring durable welded structural components.
To ensure the successful development of Q355NHC, Jingye Steel organized a dedicated product development preparation meeting in advance, where key process control points were thoroughly analyzed. A tailored rolling process was established, with precise control over heating furnace temperature zones and soaking time, ensuring that the mechanical properties and metallographic structure fully meet technical standards.
During production, Jingye implemented strict control across the entire manufacturing process. Special attention was given to the descaling process, with shot blasting tests ensuring descaling pressure ≥20 MPa to guarantee superior surface quality of steel strips. Additionally, process water between rolling stands was pre-treated to improve laminar cooling temperature accuracy, ultimately ensuring that both product performance and surface finish meet customer requirements. This achievement lays a solid foundation for future large-scale production of weathering steel.
The successful rolling of Q355NHC represents a significant milestone in Jingye Steel’s product structure transformation and upgrading strategy, as well as its continued expansion into the high-performance weathering steel market. This development not only enriches Jingye’s portfolio of corrosion-resistant steel products, but also injects new momentum into its move toward high-end steel manufacturing.
