Jingye Steel has officially launched its Carbon Footprint Management Platform, successfully completing carbon footprint calculations for three products: wire rods, color-coated steel strips, and thick steel plates. The rollout of this platform represents a key achievement in Jingye Group’s strategy of “high-end, international, intelligent, and green” development, marking an important step in the company’s full life-cycle carbon footprint management.

The system was developed under the leadership of Jingye Steel’s Intelligent Information Department, with design support from HBIS Digital Technology. It strictly follows international standards such as ISO 14067, Steel Product PCR, and EU CBAM regulations. The platform features three core capabilities: authoritative compliance, flexible scalability, and independent modeling. Deeply integrated with existing enterprise information systems, it seamlessly connects with the company’s integrated platform and data middle-office. Initially, it supports carbon footprint accounting for seven product categories at headquarters, with plans to expand to additional products in the future, providing sustainable digital support for enterprise-wide carbon management.

As an intelligent tool covering the entire product life cycle, the platform includes seven core modules, such as life cycle assessment, model management, and CBAM-specific management, enabling full-process closed-loop carbon footprint management. It comes preloaded with the latest Ecoinvent database to support professional accounting. The platform can generate EPD reports compliant with the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA) and interface with EU CBAM filings, providing crucial technical support for overcoming carbon barriers in international trade.

During application, the platform efficiently collects production, logistics, and supply chain data, supporting both automated retrieval and manual input. Its independent modeling function accurately maps carbon emissions distribution, providing a data-driven basis for emission reduction and green product development. Using the platform, Jingye Steel has completed carbon footprint calculations for wire rods, color-coated steel strips, and thick steel plates, all certified by China Classification Society. EPD reports are simultaneously published on the CISA EPD platform, achieving full coverage of major product categories and demonstrating the platform’s practicality and compliance—essentially granting Jingye Steel a “green pass” for international markets.

The platform’s launch represents an important milestone in Jingye Steel’s deep integration of digitalization and dual-carbon management. Moving forward, the company will further enhance platform applications across all processes, optimize the carbon footprint factor database, actively respond to international carbon regulations, improve the green product certification system, and promote the deep integration of green manufacturing with digital transformation. This initiative contributes Jingye’s “green solution” to the steel industry’s sustainable transition and supports the achievement of China’s dual-carbon goals.
