Jingye Group has adopted an international strategy, positioning itself as a global supplier of steel and metal products. It has set up subsidiaries and offices in 32 countries, with products exported to more than 130 countries and regions. These products are widely used in sectors such as shipbuilding, offshore engineering, automotive, home appliances, and new energy, and have been applied in key domestic and international infrastructure projects, including Beijing Daxing International Airport, Karachi Nuclear Power Station in Pakistan, Crossrail in London, Brunei's cross-sea bridge, and the Nigeria-Morocco natural gas pipeline. In response to the national policy encouraging capable enterprises to pursue cross-regional and cross-ownership mergers and acquisitions, and to accelerate the transformation and upgrading of the steel industry, Jingye Group has been strategically expanding its global footprint. In 2014, it merged with Ulanhot Steel, increasing its production capacity from 500,000 tons to 2 million tons in just six years, revitalizing the former “pearl of the grasslands.” To further accelerate its global expansion and drive high-quality development, the group merged with the UK’s second-largest steel producer, British Steel, in March 2020, positioning itself as a multinational conglomerate that showcases the influence and competitiveness of Chinese steel on the global stage. In September 2020, it merged with Guangdong Taidu Steel to strengthen its presence in the South China market and expand into Southeast Asia. On October 25, 2022, it merged with Guangdong North Guangdong United Steel, a major step in the group’s South China strategy. On September 29, 2024, the group officially merged with Nippon Steel Yingkou Plate, combining their strengths to further enhance competitiveness, achieving a “1+1>2” effect.
To drive its transformation and enhance its competitiveness, Jingye Group has introduced world-leading advanced technologies, including additive manufacturing and short-process thin-strip casting and rolling technologies. The cutting-edge technologies in powder metallurgy, 3D printing, and advanced thin-strip casting and rolling have significantly boosted the technological capabilities of the company. At the same time, the group has made major investments in steel deep processing, gradually developing an industrial park with an annual output value exceeding 50 billion RMB, covering areas such as steel structures, rebar processing and distribution, cold rolling, automotive modifications, and pipe manufacturing equipment. The company remains committed to President Xi Jinping’s development philosophy that “clear waters and lush mountains are as valuable as mountains of gold and silver,” treating environmental protection as vital to its core mission. Jingye has invested over 10 billion RMB in environmental initiatives, adopting both domestic and international best practices to upgrade its environmental facilities. All of its environmental performance indicators have been met ahead of schedule, achieving national ultra-low emission standards by 2021. In alignment with China’s dual-carbon strategy, the group has partnered with the Metallurgical Industry Planning and Research Institute to develop the “Carbon Peak and Carbon Reduction Action Plan,” while also conducting full lifecycle assessments. It is building a green, low-carbon logistics system, including dedicated railway lines and intelligent raw material transportation systems, which will reduce approximately 1.3 million heavy truck trips per year and cut carbon dioxide emissions by over 400,000 tons. The group has also invested heavily in greening its factory areas, achieving a 50% vegetation coverage rate and earning recognition as a Grade A environmental performance enterprise and a “Model Industrial Tourism Enterprise of Hebei Province.
The group’s mission is to enrich its employees and contribute to society. Jingye employees enjoy stable incomes, with annual salary increases. Currently, 60% of employees have purchased cars, 10% have bought homes in the provincial capital, and 45% have purchased homes in county cities. All employees are provided with high-standard, free health check-ups and, after a certain number of years of service, are eligible for free overseas travel.
